Coastways

Coastways is a stand-alone house with two en-suite bedrooms, a kitchen, dining-room, lounge, conservatory, utility room and staff office.

It was designed for two males who like the idea of living in their own self-contained home and who have a fair degree of independent living skills and would like to acquire more. It is situated outside of the main grounds of The Springs - but only just, being about two yards on the other side of the boundary wall - so its residents are able to get a good idea of living an independent life in the community.

 

All bedrooms, wherever situated, are centrally heated and fully furnished and residents are free to personalise them to suit their own tastes. All residents, wherever their rooms, have access to the wide range of facilities available in the communal areas of Hollands House - providing leisure, recreational, therapeutic and vocational opportunities. These include:

• communal lounge
• quiet lounge
• large recreation room used for social events such as discos, line-dancing, birthday and Christmas parties, etc.
• full-equipped training kitchen
• residents' laundry area
• two squash courts which are also adaptable for activities such as soft-ball, badminton, table-tennis, etc.
• library
• computer-room/class-room
• jacuzzi
• sensory room

In addition, the grounds contain an outdoor, heated covered swimming pool, a tennis court and an area for outdoor games. The grounds also have their own private access to the beach.
